TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! BISHOP TOLBERT REPORTEDLY TAKES A PASS ON A TABLE WITH PREZ OBAMA AND CARNAHAN UNTIL HE MEETS WITH ROY BLUNT!!!

There's no way to deny it: Democrats take minorities for granted.

Still, without seeking votes from people of color NEITHER PARTY will be able to claim victory in an increasingly diverse political landscape.

These facts coming to life in an upcoming big time fundraiser featuring President Obama and Robin Carnahan who is a Missouri Democrat candidate for Senate.

While their efforts to promote diversity are important . . . A reaction from a MAJOR KANSAS CITY POWER PLAYER was quite interesting when described to TKC.

WORD IS THAT BISHOP MARK TOLBERT IS HOLDING OFF ON HIS SUPPORT FOR CARNAHAN UNTIL HE HAS A CHANCE TO HEAR A PITCH FROM ROY BLUNT!!!

It's a politically savvy move for Bishop Tolbert of the Victorious Life Church that not only makes the votes that Tolbert can influence even precious but also demonstrates that politics within diverse communities are changing.

Certainly, TKC doesn't reject any candidate simply for party affiliation and I rather liked Kit Bond because he had a reputation for bringing home cash to KC and slapping around reporters.

But I digress . . .

Now get it straight, Tolbert might make it on stage with President Obama and Carnahan to smile for the cameras despite his initial pass on their invite but behind the scenes the word is that Democrats in Missouri are going to have to start working harder for the minority vote.

Developing . . .

  1. Better title: Kansas City Obama Drama for Black Community.

  2. No matter who he backs, his church should lose their non-profit status if delivering votes is the real business he is in.

    Tolbert is "Tom'n"

  4. In the black community, the Church and its preacher is the powerhouse. Where white people had civic associations, country clubs and business groups, black people met mainly at church. But times are a changin. Black people are now apart of those same civic associations, country clubs and business groups as whites. Black religious leaders (Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc)are losing their importance. Looks like this bishop is playing politics, hope it doesn't bite him in the butt.

Tolbert is right to shop around. I hear that the GOP is the party of diversity! and with the tea party wing, he is sure to fit right in.

    ps. note to Tolbert,
don't come knocking on my democrat door for quick help. Stand in line.

  6. Democrats are very skilled at making promises to minorities. Accompanied by high minded rhetoric. Talk, talk, talk. And they know full well they will never have to deliver more than about 10 percent of what they promise. Unless they can keep minorities a permanent underclass, the promises wouldn't register. So everyone in the Democrat/minority tea dance has a role to play.

  7. Dem cool aid drinkers might stop by for the event. That way they can be there to say goodbye to Barry. What a failure.

  8. Just another community "leader" playing games with how important he thinks he is. In the recent school board elections, thge turnout east of Troost was 3%! Not exactly a source of votes, regardless of who thinks he can "deliver". There are way too many self-important people more interested in themselves than what they can actually accomplish.

  9. Tolbert can't deliver anything! Look at the Life Changers conference this past weekend!

  11. Real churches are Christ-centric. Not charismatic leader-centric.
Call a spade a spade. This 'church' is really just a social/political club.

    Yank their tax exemption.

  13. Of course Tolbert will meet with Blunt, they are both sleaze, Blunt is a crook just like his buddy DeLay and Abramoff. And Tolbert takes all of that federal money and does not want to meet with the President.

  14. Tolbert is a blind man if he thinks Roy Blunt is going to "tell" him anything worth hearing.

Blunt is a prototypical divisive Republican who simply does not GIVE A SHIT about blacks, other minorities or working-class people generally.

If Tolbert is that stupid -- or craven -- he and Blunt DESERVE EACH OTHER. Blunt can have him.

  15. Good sir. I agree!

  16. The Republican Party has much to offer African-Americans, and I believe that Bishop Tolbert would (no joke) be quite welcome at a Tea Party event.

  17. Why in God's name would anyone want to be a Republican. They are the party that HATES 1/2 of America. They are the ones afraid to come out into the world with out being armed and only among their own "type". No damn thanks.

  18. Polling shows that African-Americans are generally in line with white conservatives on the social issues. They also like things such as school choice.

  19. Who's the blonde dude in the picture with the brotha?

  20. Cite your sources 12:10 and also define white conservatives because white conservatives today are ffffffuuuuuuuuucking crazy.
