Mattie Rhodes Center Youth Advocate Crispin Rea keeps on earning more endorsements for his At-large School Board Candidacy.
A rather AWESOME TKC TIPSTER just informed me that Rea earned the Freedom, Inc. endorsement last night.
To me, this is a really big sign because it shows that some people at Freedom realize the importance of developing coalitions among people of color.
Even better, here's something that the news didn't have a chance to report about the Freedom, Inc. candidate forum at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center.
CRISPIN WAS ONE OF THE FEW CANDIDATES TO STAND UP TO LINWOOD TAUHEED AND HIS BULLYING ON BEHALF OF THE KC BLACK UNITED FRONT/MARILYN SIMMONS/SPARK BOOKHART SLATE!!!
That's not something anybody is going to put on a resume or in a news article but it's important to know about the young man's character. I have to admit I'm impressed.
Other endorsements Rea has earned:
The Kansas City Federation Of Teachers Endorsed Crispin
The Hispanic Chamber
La Raza Political Club of Kansas City
What did that cost?
ReplyDeleteCrispin would be better off not getting the endorsement of the most corrupt group(Freedom Inc.) in the city. Endorsements are not really important today when information is available from many sources. Even Tony's. We know the Star does not provide information.
ReplyDeleteCrispin for Mayor?
ReplyDeleteKiss of death.
ReplyDeleteHe had such promise too.
Say goodnight Crispin.
He is adorable--cute as a button. I'd vote for him.
ReplyDeleteI hear Chris Moreno is quietly and effectively running Crispan's campaign.
ReplyDeleteHis endorsement by the Teachers Union is not encouraging!
ReplyDeleteEndorse away! But who will vote for this man child?
ReplyDeleteThe Hispanic Chamber
ReplyDeleteLa Raza Political Club of Kansas City
How predictable the Hispanic groups support the Hispanic candidate. How is this any different from the Black United Front?
The major difference is that the Latio Groups are not as effective is sucking money out of the system.
ReplyDeleteCrispin can thank Genaro Ruiz for everything.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that is the cover story, about Genaro.
ReplyDeleteFreedom Inc. holds as much pull anymore as the NAACP, candidates can buy support. I have been a registered voter since the 1980 election and I stopped listening to Freedom Inc. shortly after that.
ReplyDeleteGood choice.
ReplyDeleteWhen's the last time Freedom won an election? Can anyone remember? That's what I thought. Nobody gives a fuck about Freedom anymore....they just don't realize it.
ReplyDeleteA better article:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.kansascity.com/2010/03/19/1824763/freedom-inc-issues-endorsements.html
Freedom, Inc. is so irrelevant. The first $5000 buys their "endorsement," which is so meaningless, just like other endorsements. Whoo hoo. But I like Crispin regardless.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about the east side are the politico's representing them.In district council,Simmons,Adams,Grant,Taheed,Benson. The school board needs new young blood.Kc school district almost has a chance if Covington will stay and we get rid of the old gaurd.Step aside people this is truly those kids last chance.
ReplyDeleteCrispin is a worthy candidate, in spite of the endorsement. I can't vote for him, (I live in KC, but not the school district) so I sent financial $upport. I am so impressed with him that it almost makes me feel better about Freedom.
ReplyDeleteThe Hispanic chamber would endorse a slice of toast if it was Latino. The chamber is well known for Hispanic "leadership".
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I want from Crispin is a steady supply of his weed.
ReplyDeleteWhat???
That's what most of his constituents want from him also.
