TKC NOTE: Here's a post that was killed on KC Confidential wherein I tried to teach Hearne what high stakes blogging is all about and also a bit of proof that more people at The Star talk to me than anybody would like to think - Also, this is my take on a cowtown "page six" gossip relationship item:
There is a small group of high profile, public figure media people who cover Kansas City Entertainment and it seems that they want to share more than sources. Accordingly, some of THE MOST GULLY TKC TIPSTERS are speculating that The Star's music reviewer Tim Finn is making time with former Star columnist Hearne Christopher's ex-girlfriend.
In terms of solid information, I have only the fact that Finn has been embarrassingly sniffing around the Facebook profile of Hearne's former hottie (who is half the age of both these dudes) and leaving cutesy comments. There's also a direct quote which claims they are "friends" but the story gets even more sordid.
Let's savor this one together, shall we?
First of all, behind his back a great many of Finn's "friends" are kinda grossed out that he's still playing the "grief card" when it comes to his dead wife who passed exactly a year ago last week.
Finn's backstabbing friends say that he was moving toward a divorce when his old lady ran off into the great beyond while working out on a treadmill. Of course Finn's faux friends won't call him on what they consider phony grieving and nobody really knows the human heart. I think there is a definite possibility that Finn's Facebook grief is real and not just a rather convenient excuse to lure hot chicks. But I'm an optimist like that.
And since I'm sharing so much much of Finn's personal life I should note that I'm only interested in this story because I recently lost my Grandmother who was the only source of consistency in my life. She helped to raise me and did her best to see that I didn't end up in jail or victim to a violent death like so many of my friends. I note her passing only because I don't want sympathy and I think my grandma was too good for public memorializing but it's only fair that I feel a strange kinship with Finn related to grief . . . Put simply, it seems we're both creeps who lost somebody much better than ourselves. And that's basically the point of this post:
I CAN'T STAND THE KANSAS CITY NICE GUY ROUTINE!!!
It's phony, nothing more than a ploy and ignores the fact that most public-figure-high-profile-media-people in this cowtown spend most of our waking hours in search of money and poon-tang. I also hear that Finn has a weird temperament and I want to advise him that I'm not so philanthropic and nice in the real world and any public tantrum won't be tolerated and just might be met with a Westside response that usually involves more significant repercussions than hurt feelings. Nevertheless, I hope that Finn will take this bit of free advice (worth every penny) from one of his Facebook "friends" and move past the grieving stage and onto the bright future of chasing Hearne's sloppy seconds.

Tony douche, youza bastid.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you could stoop any lower in the stuff you post. Until I read this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a new low for you Tony. I am gonna have to stay away from this crap. Your burning bridges
ReplyDeleteCome on Tony - this a post from a 12 year old boy - absolutely pointless.
ReplyDeleteThis is bad. All I can say.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your grandmother
ReplyDelete:(
...and this is relevant, how?
ReplyDeleteOH - Its from your basement and we ALL know ANYTHING that comes from your basement is relevant.
Get a freakin life will ya!
I agree - a new low from Kansas City's lowest of bottom-feeders.

Sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. Grandmothers are what keep we d-bags somewhat on the straight-and-narrow.
ReplyDeleteWell at least you outed D-bag Hearne's predatory behavior as well. Hate to think you would be watching that creeps back.
ecchhh... i feel slimey just for reading it, thinking it first it was some dirt hearne was too chicken to post. it was dirt alright, but it's all over you tony. just wrong, dude.
ReplyDelete1. I want to date a guy Half my age! I want him gorgeous but he must be a deaf/mute and just smile a lot.
ReplyDelete2. poon-tang- GREAT WORD! Have not heard it in so long!
3.Westside response usually involved knives. BE VERY CAREFUL!
4. Tony, I bet your Abuelita is in heaven saying, valga me!
Who cares.
ReplyDeleteI hope Tim Finn sues your ass. This is appalling -- even for you.
ReplyDeletePathetic cry for help Tony. Try living among humans someday.
ReplyDeleteAre you threatening violence in the last paragraph? You chickenshit. All you know how to do is hide behind your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou, sir, are an asshole AND a pussy.
You are a complete shitbag, and deserve to have your ass kicked.
ReplyDeleteTerrible post? why is he in the crosshairs? because he works at the star? lame tony.
ReplyDeleteFuck your dead grandmother.
ReplyDeleteI can't resist the bait, Tony, you miserable excuse for a human being. F.O.A.D.
ReplyDeleteTalk about the shot heard 'round the world! This battle ought to be a good one. *DING*DING* Round 2.
ReplyDeleteThis is really low even for you.
ReplyDeleteI heard that Hearne nailed your Grandma.
ReplyDeleteLandsberg's take:
ReplyDeletehttp://bottomlinecom.com/kcnews/tkcontimfinnhearne.html
Tony, yesterday:
"John Landsberg runs Bottomline and he is the foremost authority on local media, a great writer/reporter and one of the most intelligent people I've ever had the pleasure to hear speak."
Wow. What a scoop--a guy whose wife died a year ago now is apparently interested in a relationship with a woman. And this woman also has has talked to, and apparently dated, men in the past. This is all quite remarkable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creepy post. Even if the Finn-Chapin marriage wasn't perfect, even if he really was contemplating divorce (and really strong confirmation on that tangential speculation), can you get your peabrain to grapple with the concept that her sudden death and the children's loss of a mother could result in profound grief? Your leap from "I may be contemplating divorce" to "Her death was lucky break for me" is disturbing and asinine.
ReplyDeleteseriously, how do you live with yourself? So, so bitter.
ReplyDeletebest kc gossip item ever.
ReplyDeleteLOL, acting like a total asshole, then trying to garner sympathy with "my grandma died." Classic.
ReplyDeleteYOU ABSOLUTELY DISGUST ME! TIM'S WIFE WAS A DEAR FRIEND OF MINE AND YOU GO AND SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS.
ReplyDeleteGO TO HELL! YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO HEART.
Let's just hope their teenage daughters don't read this.
ReplyDeleteNot much else to say...
The only people not denouncing this are bloggers who are scared of Tony.
ReplyDeleteEh, I don't know the guy, I've read his stuff from time to time. I've had the experience of being hit on by grieving widowers who still miss their wives, even up to ten years after the fact (hell, death is always a great conversation starter. We all know one dead person or another. Plus, it's a bonus if you can play on a woman's sympathies, as so many of us ARE very sympathetic). Anyway, like I said, I don't know the people involved here, but I did find this to be an interesting read. I'm not terribly into Kansas City politics, but I do enjoy the posts on local happenings and of course, this kind of thing to spice it up now and then. Keep on truckin', Tony!
ReplyDeleteyou really cant out something that was on facebook. you have jumped the shark. I really think you need some friend to tell you how far off the mark you are. I know you dont get it and I am saddened and disgusted by your childish actions and complete waste of education and abilities.
ReplyDelete"The only people not denouncing this are bloggers who are scared of Tony."
ReplyDeleteas opposed to anony commentors who are crazy brave. STFU, post your name and address then you can make judgement calls about the motives of others.
anon 4:31 says "I'm not terribly into Kansas City politics, but I do enjoy the posts on local happenings"
ReplyDeleteThis isn't local politics, numbnuts. It's a respected music writer and his deceased spouse being dragged through the mud by some spineless prick
http://bottomlinecom.com/kcnews/tkcontimfinnhearne.html
ReplyDeleteI like the comment about how Tony might have his face punched if he shows up at any media events. He really is turning into a sad, hateful clown
respected music writer?
ReplyDeleteWorst fuckin kind
You go T.
"The only people not denouncing this are bloggers who are scared of Tony."
ReplyDeleteNO KIDDING.
There are bloggers Tony has linked to this page that can't stand him. But they are afraid he'll write some tasteless article like this about him, so they just ignore him.
I wouldn't know why people would be afraid of Tony, any press is good press. I've often gotten more hits off a bad review than a good one.
ReplyDeleteBLC took down the post. So much for standing firm with integrity.
ReplyDeletenot even worth reading the comments. Tony... some days youre just OFF. Today's one of them.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit who the SOHO crowd is screwing? Other than THEM?
Surely they can get all that at Jardines, can't they?
Tony you sure are getting hateful lately. Just because you don't like the guy or don't like the Star doesn't give you a right to criticize how he grieves his wife.
ReplyDeleteEven Page 6 wouldn't touch this. There are moments when writers need to show some restraint; this is one of those times, Tony.
ReplyDeleteKing Solomon said that if you fear God, you won't have to be afraid of anything else and that's my motto as well.
ReplyDelete"I recently lost my Grandmother" was the only line in that diatribe that meant anything to me. It was news to me and made me sad, because TKC has written of his grandmother several times and I was truly sorry to hear of her passing. I don't care about the rest of it.
Thats the last straw messican. Meet me at the picket fence, I'll be out there supervising some painters. Nobody talks about my brother Tim.
ReplyDeleteLeight Ann, there's another great proverb you should pay attention to
ReplyDeletewhat goes around comes around
piecashitony will get his in the end
I thought Yogi Berra said that
ReplyDelete:P
09:21:00 PM FTW!
ReplyDeleteBlowtello, you pathetic piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteDon't the mexican's have a word for "shame"? That why you don't know the meaning?
I'm sure Mr. Finn is observing the 5-day waiting period in this state. But since you won't be here for Christmas, can I have whatever your grandma left under the tree for you?
As if anyone gives a shit about any of this. You are a master of bullshit Tony.
ReplyDeleteEverybody at the Star knows this was going to be a nasty, hurtful to the kids divorce. Yet they all milked it for what it was worth. Very sad.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.magazine.utoronto.ca/feature/why-people-are-irrational-kurt-kleiner/
ReplyDeleteI think that link applies to EVERYONE in that story.
ReplyDelete"How can someone so smart be so stupid? We’ve all asked this question after watching a perfectly intelligent media/joke blogger pull a boneheaded move."
ReplyDeleteWith this post Tony reminds me of the guy who got shot by the cops blasting away indiscriminately, knowing he'll get taken down quick and hard and somehow not caring, even asking for it.
I think the question at the start of this post was what Landsberg was getting at before he inexplicably took down his critical write-up.
Tony could actually be somebody, but he prefers to be hateful and vile toward his would-be fellows rather than apply his talents toward something at least resembling a humane discussion. Sure, Hearne and Darla will take him, but for how long?
Our loss, perhaps, but ultimately his problem
Anyone who has found themselves in the crosshairs of Tony's petty hate machine should keep today's post bookmarked, just to remember the kind of troubled persona we're dealing with here at the old soft-porn media joke blog.
Tony = the bill o'reilly of kc media.
ReplyDeletenow that I think about it tony and Hearne deserve each other.
They both became worthless once they stopped being fun
I don't mind what you wrote Tony, good work! Lauren was nice in person...a fag hag for Tim if you ask me. I don't believe your story however because Tim has complete and total GAY face! You want the truth, try a dark gay bar...and you will find it!
ReplyDeleteWho are these people? Who cares? The post is a bit hurtful if these people really exist.
ReplyDelete"STFU, post your name and address then you can make judgement calls about the motives of others."
ReplyDeleteYOU FIRST, tough guy.
I'll fuck you up.
4:05,..stupid fuck
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!
ReplyDeleteTKC writes a post about moving on and Huck Finn's brother posing as a grieving widower. Note: his "friends" say "he is still playing the grief card"
Then he compares Finn's wife to his sainted grandmother and the pot shots start from the anony-mouses, without any of the mice noting that TKC writes how both women were very good women who made a difference in others' lives.
The point of the story, my little chickens, is that there is a time for grieving and a time to MOVE ON.
We don't capitalize on misery like it appears Mr. Finn is doing, according to his "friends".
Sorry about your abuelita, Tony. She sounds like a great woman.
Actually Lauren seems like she was a great woman, too. Probably had a lot of stress in her last days. Divorce can be a real bummer.
Too bad, all the Star reporters felt the need to weigh in on the comments. They should put as much energy into their paid writing.
Looks like TKC has the Star writers in his pocket.
ReplyDeleteHey, asshole:
ReplyDeleteTim's my friend. You know what that word means?
"... a Westside response that usually involves more significant repercussions than hurt feelings"? What are you gonna do -- put a new roof on his house? No, wait -- that requires skill.
Boys...
ReplyDeleteA lady passed away, it is supposed to be the holiday time where people are nice to each other.
Can we out of respect for Lauren and her family and friends stop this horrible hurtful blog?
My niece would love a sack of Hearne's balls!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Pete Schweddy
