Okay . . . I've seen a bit of this other places but not as eloquently as AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS have put it:
Here's a list of just some of the big names that were scurried down to the City Council Session in order to support Cauthen.
Bill Dietrich
John Copaken
Bridget Williams
Steve Dunn
Ed Desoigne
Steve Taylor
Doc Worley
A word from another AWESOME TKC TIPSTER about a member of the Dunn clan making an appearance:
"I found it rather odd that Steve Dunn, one who avoids the spotlight, positioned himself to be quoted in the Star as being dismayed about the Cauthen firing. The news sources stated that there was a contingency of "downtown business leaders" that were at the council proceedings in support of Cauthen. It was also uncharacteristic for Dunn to be caught by the cameras amongst the heckling crowd at Thursday's city hall coup . . . My take is he had no choice. No doubt, Cauthen will be grateful for Dunn's gesture. This will help keep Cauthen's mouth shut should the subjects of the H&R Block project, the Dunn Headquarters building or any other similar project involving Dunn come up in the inevitable hearings. I'm sure Cauthen paved the way clear for Dunn to walk away with millions in the downtown renaissance."Now, I could give you profiles on each and every one of the rest of these d-bags but if you don't already know them by now then most of what's happening in City Government is probably just gonna confuse you anyway . . . The point of this all is that these folks are big Cowtown biz dudes and they are where Cauthen's support really came from . . . Word is They were PISSED when their boy was let go because that signaled that their gravy train was just about over.
And, for me, this list is important because it demonstrates where Cauthen's support really came from biz people and not the African-American community and the fervor to keep him in office last time around was pretty much just a reaction to a power play by a scumbag (but now powerless) Mayor.
But I digress . . . These biz dudes made lots of crazy talk and even promised to pull their money away from some of politicos behind this decision . . . However, that's not gonna happen and they're probably just letting off steam . . . They'll find somebody new to buy no doubt and it might surprise TKC readers to know that one person on this list already sent me a shout out and made a vague promise about advertising . . . Fortunately, I don't take any.
