TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! THE DETAILS BEHIND A MARCH AGAINST P&L DISTRICT DISCRIMINATION THIS SATURDAY!!!

I have no idea why the mainstream (i.e. white) media isn't covering the increased tension and action from some members of the local African-American leadership against the Power & Light District . . . But the ongoing story of discrimination is about to get even more interesting this weekend.

AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS, AS ALWAYS, HAVE THE INSIDE SCOOP!!!

Maybe white people who don't read The Call haven't noticed but there is a march being organized against The P&L District on Saturday.

Exclusive detail: Word is . . .

THERE HAS BEEN ABOUT 3K WORTH OF ADVERTISEMENT AND PROMOTION MONEY PUT INTO THIS PROTEST THAT WANTS TO DRAW AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO PROTEST THE P&L DISTRICT!!!

They say they want at least 5k people to attend . . . If they get 100 it'll leave yet another a stain on the district and send a horrible message about the disparity and discrimination that exists in this town.

Who are the players in this most recent P&L District Drama?

Attorney Michael Fletcher, Local Leader Clinton Adams and KC Urban League Activist Gwen Grant are the trio said to be at the top of this pyramid. However, there are other voices that also have started to speak up against the Power and White place.

THERE'S ADVANCED WORD THAT FORMER COUNCIL LADY SAUNDRA MCFADDEN WEAVER MIGHT MAKE AN APPEARANCE AT THIS SATURDAY'S P&L DISTRICT PROTEST!!!

Still, there's more even background on this story thanks to some of the most informed and AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS . . .

It should be noted that some leaders in the African-American community didn't think that plaintiffs had a case in the most recent lawsuit centered on discrimination at The P&L District.

In fact, in folks like Former City Council Lady Carol Coe very bluntly was heard saying that this case had no merit . . . I suspect now that there's some momentum behind the story she might have changed her mind.

Even more interesting . . .

AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS NOTE A STRONG CORRELATION BETWEEN GWEN GRANT'S P&L PROTEST ACTIVITY AND CORDISH CONTRACT BIDDING!!!

Here is a money quote from one of the most well informed TKC sources with a unique perspective on the story and case, "Gwen Grant sat on the very TIF Commission that brought Cordish here and gave them those sweet tax breaks, but when her organization was passed up for a diversity training contract and Cordish awarded it to Harmony instead of the Urban League, she came out hard in the media against Cordish."

Harsh words but they represent a very accurate conception of some P&L District protesters and their special interests.

Still . . .

THERE IS NO DENYING THAT P&L DISTRICT DISCRIMINATION REMAINS A HOT BUTTON TOPIC AND THE HOSTILITY TOWARD THE PLACE IS REACHING A BOILING POINT ONCE AGAIN!!!

The response from P&L is typically lame . . . Their recent move was so textbook and condescending it's barely worth mention. Still, citing all the minority events hosted by P&L is like a nice pat on the head toward KC's diverse communities.

It's this kind of failure to address the real problems that has brought us to this point. And Saturday seems to be just the beginning of another round of protest and outrage at a party district practicing discriminatory conduct on the taxpayers dime.

Comments

  1. They will not get 12 people.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Lame. Wouldn't be caught dead in that group.

I am sure if you paid one of the organizers enough cash the march would go away. Isn't that how black activist measure progress now? By how much they can get paid to go away?

    ReplyDelete
  3. If the group is any bigger than about 20, there will be a shooting and P&L will win the debate once and for all.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why dont they just march to 18th & Vine and leave that area in ruins (like Westport). The PC crowd conveniently forgets that the city sunk millions ($30-40M) over there for a "cultural" entertainment district. It's now a joke.

Why do trouble makers like Carol Coe and TKC just want to stir shit up.

Yes Tony, you now can be mentioned in the same sentence with Carol.

    ReplyDelete
  5. "maybe white people who don't read The Call".....................White people don't read the call IDIOT, that's like black people reading, The Daily White Man Journel...

    ReplyDelete
  6. I won't be there.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm shocked Jesse Jackson isn't coming wearing a $2,000 suit.

    ReplyDelete
  8. If day give out freee fried chiken and tacos day mite get mo folks to shows up!

    ReplyDelete
  9. What a bunch of douchey commenters you have

Anyway, I wouldn't call it a big secret. I heard Saundra McFadden Weaver on 107.3 advertising it this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  10. African American and Leader is an oxymoron. There are no true leaders East of Troost. Only people eager to get a payday and make it rain for their families.

The Cordish guys are racist douchebags but STFU and let them fail on their own. Isn't there enough crime and other activity to be indignant about? There are close to 100 murders this year, with the majority being black and the vast majority of those doing the killing being black. Fix the "stop snitching" BS and let the P&L dig its own grave.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The words of 10:04 should be sprayed on a big sign and posted outside of P&L for everyone marching this weekend. It couldn't be more truthful.

There is NO BLACK LEADERSHIP in this city. Only greed.

    ReplyDelete
  12. What a waste of time...

    ReplyDelete
  13. I prefer to reserve judgment until I know what Radioman has to say,

    ReplyDelete
  14. I get shit at P&L about sagging all the time and I'm white. And I dress very clean cut... I mean, I do read TKC, a blog that primarily concerns local politics. How ghetto can I be?

    ReplyDelete
  15. McFadden Weaver?

    You mean the felon?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I won't be ther either. None of the "leaders" of this march have any credibilty. Each have seen their careers and reputations ruined behind their unscrupulous behavior. Michael Fletcher and Carol Coe lost their law licenses. Gwen Grant tries to get on as many boards, commissions and task forces as she can to steer contracts to herself and her friends. Clinton Adams beat his wife and Saundra Mcfadden Weaver served time in federal prison for mortgage fraud. The only other person missing from this coalition of crooks is Alvin Brooks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1:07.....pull your pants up loser.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What has been the response from Power and Light?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Who cares? I'm going deer hunting!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I kind of hate everyone who comments on this blog...

    ReplyDelete
  21. True 10:21, true. Also I agree, 1:07 and any other saggers, pull your damn pants up. Nobody wants to see your dooky stained underware. I don't even know why supposed macho street-cred guys wear this style anyway. It came from prison and was a sign that your a@@ was available for activity.
But back the matter at hand. First Tony, you, like many non-blacks have been dupped into believing these folks have any credibility on the eastside or in the larger black community. Mostly they are looked at as jokes. A large segment doesn't even like or trust McFadden-Weaver and most think Clinton Adams is mad as a hatter. (by the way you do know he and Gwen Grant are brother and sister don't you) Where one goes the other will follow. However is it not strange the dancing/singing McFadden Brothers distance themselves from the antics of their sister? Maybe they know something the rest of us don't.

    ReplyDelete
  22. WHY WOULD THEY HAVE BISHOP MARK TOLBERT ON TV PROMOTING THIS MARCH WHEN TOLBERT HAS BEEN TAKING MONEY FROM CORDISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. well, 2:58. They are all puta's anyway. Probably all trying to get a taste of the Cordish teet.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tolbert needs to keep taking money from Cordish to finish paying off a couple members of his flock (who he got caught "flocking").

    ReplyDelete
  25. Clinton and Gwen are in it for the money. They will force Cordish to give the Urban League a big contract so they can work with Cordish and the community to find a solution. The Urban League is the best poverty pimp in town. Clinton is always pimping for his sister's organization.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @10:04 & 10:21 - Amen and amen! There's no cash (and much less media coverage) in addressing the real issues affecting the urban core- plus it takes real work on the streets and you can't expect this fancy group to be out amongst the real poor, can you? Crooks and charlatans every one...
Oh, and 12:24 is just waiting for RM's response so he/she can tell when it's time to stop reading the posts on this topic.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Another brillient observation 4:38. These are the type of to-good blacks that don't really want to interact with the urban core just use their circumstances as reasons to line their own pockets. Not saying there isn't real need these are not the folks who really get anything done.

    ReplyDelete
  28. According to my sources at the KCPD, they will be running warrant checks on people and car plates this weekend at the P&L district. So be advised everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  29. If Cordish gives Gwen Grant a contract and Clinton Adams consulting fees, it will be money wasted. Nobody of any race takes those two seriously. They are forever plugging some program or proposal of some sort. People don't they take Sandra McFatass Weaver, Bishop Don Juan Tolbert or Carol Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs Coe seriously either...

    ReplyDelete
  30. It was the lead story today on KCTV5 news at noon.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The Urban League isn't as bad as the FEC i the "poverty pimp" business.

But like these people or not, the P&L district has racist policies.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think that is the best analysis.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tony Micheal Fletcher is disbarred you had "Attorney". I know no one on this blog reads the Call newspaper or likes Eric L. Wesson but in this week's paper he wrote an on point opinion piece about the march not being a real priority of issues within the Black community. He lists 10 other issues and he is absolutely correct.

    Gracie McDaniel

    ReplyDelete
  34. Fletcher is the one setting himself up to run against Sharon Sanders Brooks. Why was Channel 9 scared to say that? He is the behind the scenes organizer. He will never be able to practice law again in this city.
Yes sell-out Tolbert took money from Power and Light for his Life Changers Bullshit conference. Did he give the money back afterward. Where are the big name preachers at like Cleaver and Hartsfield and Lindsey and Cobbins. That tells us it is not credible.Preachers demonstrating so that people can go to night clubs drink do drugs and fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Seriously,if we agree to voluntarily turn over the Power and Light District to the gangbangers, can we have Westport back? Fair is fair!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was there the night Fletcher and Coe told some people that they didn't have a case to sue P&L. A man and woman were upset and arguing at them very loudly in front of Willie Gary. I was there. Wonder why the sudden change of heart? Hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  37. $$$$$$$$$$

    plain and simple.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Just give the P&L district to these turds. It should continue long enough to distract them from going to better places.

Then it will all implode, as it always does when you give up to the thug-tards.

Someone build a fence around that part of town and don't let the stupid people out of it for any reason.

    ReplyDelete
  39. its nice to go somewhere and you dont see a man with his pants down around his ass or hat on sideways
