Choking on Mike Hendricks Veggie Book

In what has to be the most insipid, white privilege, elitist and scum-baggy move known to local journalism . . . The Star is promoting a new book featuring Mike Hendricks and his wife shilling for gardening garbage.

Bottomline Communications has exclusive details on the book that I think is yet another low point for the KC Star Columnist.

He's working the (sub)urban gardening angle in order to strenghten his yuppie cred and it's one of the most cynical branding attempts I've seen from him in a fortnight.

Hendricks wants us to eat our veggies and now The Star is force feeding us his spoiled, elitist world view.

  2. 'a fortnight."

You've been hanging around Confidential folks far too long tony. Veggie's trendy enough, the star crowd's into that.

Who are you to be accusing others of being pretentious? Isn't your mom's basement over in KCK?

Anyway based on the pix over at BottomLine, I wouldn't shell out 25 bucks for yet another coffee table book.

Look at it this way, though. They had fun writing it together. As to whether or not it's a new LOW?

Its actually a high point for them but we know you've had an erection for more than four hours over that particular columnist.

    Go see the doctor.

  5. I love my vegetable garden in the suburbs, I love the lower food bill, I love the satisfaction of growing something edible from a tiny seed, I love that my grandchild has learned a deep appreciation for working outdoors in the garden, I love that I am actually contributing something to my community (passerby's love looking at the garden and we share what we grow) instead of making insipid, dumbass remarks about people they know very little about if they know anything at all.

    When is your next mani-pedi?

    Michelle
