A pretty major recent political movement was completely unreported by local media who have about as much political understanding as a tuna sandwich. Maybe it's the result of push back or just getting closer to an opportunity.
Here it is:
JEFF ROE'S AXIOM STRATEGIES IS SOON TO CELEBRATE THEIR LACK OF POLITICAL TRACTION IN KC'S URBAN CORE BY HAVING AN OPEN HOUSE AT NEW-ISH OFFICES IN BRIARCLIFF!!!
Roe was down on Grand for a bit.
And now his new party is set to break in his new-ish Briarcliff address.
And now Credit where it's due:
Jeff Roe runs most things even marginally clever related to local Republicans or conservative politics. His tactics are legendary and whenever an effective and especially nasty mailer is sent out there's always the rumor that his company is behind it. Radio scumbag Chris Stigall pretty much sponsored content for his ideology for 4 hours every weekday morning.
I even have some EXCLUSIVE news related to Jeff Roe theories that are circulating . . .
WORD IS ROE IS GOING TO RUN A NORTHLAND SLATE OF CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES ON A "REFORM" PLATFORM WITH MAYOR FUNKY AS THE LEAD!!! UGH!!!
The media line that Roe perfected blames The City Council for Mayor Funky's problems and word (possibly leaked) of his latest strategy is actually quite brilliant.
There's already a lot of evidence that Roe wants to squeeze his grip on Northland Politics even more tightly:
Roe (and whatever political hack he picked to run) almost beat Council Dude Russ Johnson simply because the guy was is a Democrat. Russ is allegedly a genius and couldn't understand the strategy. Now with even more ammunition . . . Along with the fact that Johnson called out Mr. Peanut for being a local example of Subprime . . . Russ can kiss any hope of re-election goodbye.
Roe has somebody in mind for Deb Hermann's spot since she is termed out.
Ed Ford is gone as well.
And Bill Skaggs is saying "see ya" to his Council seat as well .
IT SEEMS THAT JEFF ROE'S MOVE UP NORTH IS PRETTY MUCH AN ADVANCED PREVIEW THAT HE'S GOING TO BE RUNNING THINGS UP THERE AND WILL HAVE EVEN MORE CONTROL OVER KC PROPER!!!
Of course this is going to make Kansas City politics even more divisive and nasty which should be fun.
Roe's open house party and his new Northland digs are sure to be sweet.
And simply because he was never able to swing much influence in Midtown doesn't mean he won't be back to give rivals a hard time.
Oh yeah . . . And I hear Becky Nace and her faux Latina antics are back again as well.
Ew.
Developing . . .
Becky? Really?
ReplyDeleteWho's Jeff Roe?
ReplyDeleteGood question. Tony does not explain that he is a Republican political consultant who advises Sam Graves.
ReplyDeleteYou got it all wrong. Jeffy's moving up north 'cause it's close to Waterworks Park where he'll be spending his lunch hours. He heard that the guys who hang out there are a lot less picky than the guys who hang out at the Liberty Memorial, so he might actually get some action.
ReplyDeleteGross.
ReplyDeletehope he can find someone to run against red light cathy jolly.
ReplyDeleteI think Ed Ford still has one more term.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this guy worthy of note?
ReplyDeleteLocal republican political consultant moves his office into a republican stronghold. You scooped the story of the year.
ReplyDeleteBig Jeff Roe, King of the Northland :) All hail the new advisor to what was once the hope of the average Kansas City voter... the Orange Revolution.
ReplyDeleteBriarcliff is the very first TIF handout project bestowed upon millionaire Charles Garney, the developer. So it is only fitting a republican would gravitate to the location of a tax giveaway project built upon the hard work sweat and tears and taxes of innercity taxpayers. A look at his staff reveals what could be a young republican's student chapter. Or it could be a future sexual harrassment suit, you pick the gender. Cut this bastard off at the knees and reject his slate next election. While you are at it, what's up with Garney's daughter, a lawyer, getting certified as a WBE plumbing business? How does that work? Just a question to use to vet out Roe's future candidates.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever asked if Mayor Kay really paid for her house or was their a quid pro quo?
ReplyDeleteSeems awfully coincidental that she moves to Briarcliff and then spearheads a whole lot of TIF there to prop up her property values.

ReplyDeleteyou obviously don't understand how TIF works and it is funded when you make statements like: "tax giveaway project built upon the hard work sweat and tears and taxes of innercity taxpayers." If you want to be critical of TIF, focus on projects that don't incrementally increase revenue and those that the city guaranteed the bonds. The Bannister Soccer development is a classic case of a 'bad' TIF along with the P&L.
Ha! Inner city "taxpayers". Did you misspell? Do you mean "Inner city taxtakers?"
ReplyDeleteBetween the poor and the rich, the middle class get fucked because they're the only one who work for anything without pissing and moaning for a handout.
MORE GIRLS MAKING POOPY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood By to the BULLY BOY. To bad we didn't get white rail passed so that he could be "rode out of town on a rail"
ReplyDeleteI have a dream job with the US Department of Commerce where I help companies negatively impacted by foreign trade turn things around. I have two grandkids on the way, my first, and if that’s not enough I actually have a little time to travel and enjoy life. P.S. I moved to the Northland for one reason, Staley High School. My step-sons, who live with us, attend there.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tony, you subtropolis dwelling ethnic expert, you know better.
Love ya anyway,
Bec
