The rumor mill is moving fast and loose regarding Citadel Plaza . . .
First, it's important to point out the REAL JOURNALISM BY KANSAS CITY RADIO GREAT BILL GRADY is the subject of a great deal of City Hall chatter.
Starting last month, EPA criminal investigators started making inquiries with at least one city official and others about the property's contamination. Jim Rice, worked for the company that owned the land at one time. An investigator showed up in his office. Current developers, CDC-KC have not completed the asbestos clean up.Now onto the gossip that's flying all over . . .
So . . . The Citadel Plaza disaster sits around with nearby homeowners yet again feeling abandoned . . . Mostly because they are . . . Developing.
Question: where did the $1.5 million come from? And is it paying for community workers? And will they install the weatherstripping on homes? And this creates jobs how? The only job I see created by this debacle is for Anita. Would love to know what she is being paid with our "infusion."
ReplyDeleteAgain a group of guys like Rice pass on their problems and another group of guys with City Council members included try to get money from you and me to clean up the property with some kind of a subsidzy.
ReplyDeleteSome one should look at Rice and see if he isn't a little responsible for getting this mess paid for out of his own pocket rather than out of the public coffers.
Rice? He was gone long before CDC-KC decided to bury the asbestos instead of disposing of it properly.
ReplyDeleteJust curious . . . how can this be a TKC Exclusive if, as you say, Bill Grady did all the work?
ReplyDeleteNo one will see jail time for this. Look at the View condos downtown. They were spraying that shit with a pressure washer blowing it over the place and they got a $20k fine with no admission of any wrong doing.
