Today's the day of the big vote as to whether or not KC is going to give $20.5 million to a project that doesn't have a great chance of success.
The Star has a meager offering buried in the local section today.
TKC COVERAGE COURTESY OF KICKASS TIPSTERS HAS BEEN MUCH BETTER!!!
At every point in this story TKC TIPSTERS have simply come up with more relevant information.
This blog has featured:
The next EXCLUSIVE detail I'm going to lay down on this story may determine how things unfold today . . . A lot of people don't know this but . . .
THE CITADEL PLAZA DEAL MUST ATTAIN 9 VOTES IN ORDER TO PASS AND NOT JUST A SIMPLE MAJORITY!!!
The City Council has had trouble with these kind of rules in the recent past and close watchers of The City Charter are going to be keeping track of this IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DETAIL first noted by TKC.
I think it's clear KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS provided much more information that The Star could bring to this story and right now I just want to thank them!!!
This is an important vote for Kansas City that will have a great impact on our future. And I guess it's a good thing that TKC readers, Tipsters, commenters and the blogosphere played a bigger part in the story than the last remnants of the dead tree media.
Vote no Funk. This is your chance to start building credibility again.
ReplyDeleteFunk is voting yes. Already told you. He has traded a lot of favors in order to get reelected.
ReplyDeletethis is the worst project because it will cost jobs in the long run. vote no every tax proposal in the future.
ReplyDeletethere are a lot more reasons than that why this is the worst project. They'd be handing over $20.5 million dollars to one company, up front, for the project. Who's to say the company will get it done? And what, exactly and specifically is being asked of this company (The Block Co.)? And why should we EVER have a non-competed project like this? (Answer: we shouldn't). Finally--for here and now, anyway--this is the WORST real estate market in 70 years--since the Great Depression. There is retail and commercial space available ALL OVER TOWN. The city doesn't need this developed right now. It's stupid. It's irresponsible. They should all vote no.

This ignores what the eastside really needs.
ReplyDeleteBad project.
Schools are closing because the district's funding is cut by $44 million and they want to spend over $90 million on a retail project???
ReplyDeleteWHEN MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PEOPLE WE ARE ALL DOOMED!
anyone that votes yes will not be re-elected on this...mark my word

ReplyDeleteIf you rob Peter to pay Paul you can always count on Paul's support. A lot of Pauls will make big money on this and campaign money will flow. Meanwhile taxpayers won't be paying attention as usual. They will be concerned about bike paths, dog parks, bottled water, Park Board appointees and any number of insignificant issues.
all the people and their insignificant issues are following this and from the volume of emails already sent from them to council members, this vote will be a HUGE come campaign time
ReplyDeletesuck it.
