Kansas City's corrupt and mostly absent Mayor did this town a great disservice when he played political games regarding KCPD budget cuts instead of dealing with the problem like an adult.

The department and a great many other people all around Kansas City have worked hard for diversity within the police force and now a huge step forward in that effort seems in vain. Of course they're applying for Federal Grants but that's never a sure thing . . . And I can't help but think that Mayor Funky's empty words and inept political maneuvers helped to create this horrible situation as yet again Mayor Funky and his wife have held back progress in Kansas City.

ReplyDeleteThe rest of the council was originally told that officers would not have to be cut. The Chief "changed his mind" when he thought he could embarrass the council.
ReplyDeleteIt was a diverse class. I understand they found a dumb Asian, two hetero females and Mexican who didn't smell bad.

ReplyDeleteI heard Grandview and Lees Summit hired a lot of these guys. KCMO paid for their training, so Lees Summit and Grandview got to ride the coattails of KCMOs budget stupidity.
