So, the news week really started with the news of the Star Columnist Rhonda Chriss Lokeman DUI arrest.
The news came down via the Internets and all of the discussion and deleting notes on comment boards eventually forced the Star to respond.
Strangely, Kansas City learned that Lokeman, longtime columnist and wife of the Star Publisher somehow retired conveniently before the arrest . . . It's a claim at which just about everyone in Kansas City scoffs . . .
And since The Star publishes so many mugshots of people who have been arrested throughout the area . . . It's only fair that someone at the upper echelon of their news organization (now just through marriage) should share the same privilege.
So here is the DUI mugshot of Rhonda Chriss Lokeman.
Posted as a public service and with the full knowledge that if TKC is ever arrested, I'm sure my mug will be everywhere as well.
In Kansas City, Karma certainly is a bitch.
Finally . . . It is the most childish thing in the world to say "FIRST" on the Internetz. But at 10:56 in the A.M. Feb 5, 2009 TKC posted these photos before anybody else and I'm putting them up without graphics because they're public domain. Share the love, link to TKC in order to demonstrate that the Internets has ethics . . . And, Sadly realize that (from what I've heard) none of the reporters at The Star could dare post these mugshots.
So . . . Childish as it may be:
TKC HAD THESE PHOTOS FIRST THANKS TO SOME VERY AWESOME FOLKS!!!
Thank you for reading. Enjoy.
you fucking rock Tony.

Hey Santino, I take it that you have decided never to work at the Kansas City Star? You should include a picture of a burning bridge :)
ReplyDeleteNot that the idea of working there would appeal to you, by the way. On the plus side, a few more months of this economy, and you might be able to buy the KC Star.
And then we could call you the Bman... :)

ReplyDeleteThey should have let her cop a quick shave. I think there is another story here.

ReplyDeleteYou suck at life

ReplyDeleteDon't you remember that Tony was the first to blog about Star layoffs this week?
Damn Doc, you need to enjoy your retirement more.
Okay, I'll be the first one to say it since no one else will.
ReplyDeleteThis woman is 50 years old and she's just been busted for DUI but she looks fabulous.
Sorry, I'm a woman and it's the first thing I noticed.
Looks fabulous? You're joking, right? By whose standards? Yikes, I think she looks creepy, scary...

ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous? The picture that the Star used for her column - and THIS picture look like two different women.
ReplyDeleteShe's thinking of how Bush let to this in those photos.
ReplyDeleteShe looks okay for somebody who is revealed to be a hypocrite.
ReplyDelete“This woman is 50 years old and she's just been busted for DUI but she looks fabulous.”
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous compared to what? Dirt?
Old and busted.
ReplyDeleteGot a nose like MIke Tyson.
ReplyDeleteI'd hit it.
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend got a trucked face.
ReplyDeleteI hit it.
ReplyDeleteHate to say it, but I don't think the Star really did anything wrong. It's not like they print mug shots for DUI's, do they? I've never seen anyone's mug in the paper unless it was some big case. If they did print them, there'd be 3 extra pages of nothing but pics. I'm guessing that pretty much anyone who wanted it could've gotten it - these are public info, just walk down to the clerks and ask for it - but no one else has an audience of people dumb enough to think it's a scoop. Except Tony.
ReplyDeleteLets review: She was driving at night, drunk, with her lights off so no one would notice she WAS MISSING A FUCKING TIRE. Sounds like a Star writer to me.
ReplyDeleteThe behavior was inexcusable and will be prosecuted. The marriage between this woman and the publisher was the reason for the silence. If it had been anybody else but her, they would have not been shaded from the spotlight.

Hate to bust up your love fest, but, yes, the Star often and constantly posts mug shots of public figures and did in fact post one the very same day that the story was broken.
Uh oh...USA Today has the story! You've really gone national Rhonda! You're a STAR!
ReplyDeleteDamn, you have to be fucking drunk to not notice a fucking tire missing. Who needs a breathalyzer for something like that? Slam dunk shit.
ReplyDeleteIf Tony had a car (he doesn't) he would know about tires. Rita gives him bus money to make it to his job at Subway. Make me a sammich, beaner!
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots worse mug shots ... Just saying ...
ReplyDeletemedusa called...wants the snakes back.
