TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! AS A RESULT OF RECENT CLOSURES OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, KANSAS CITY MUST SOON COME UP WITH MILLIONS TO PAY FOR THE P&L DISTRICT!!!

TKC TIPSTERS are everywhere and THEY ROCK!!!

Here's the latest news related to one of Kansas City's biggest mistakes:

Times are tough and this Recession is quickly turning into a Depression.

As close watchers of Kansas City current events already know . . . The financing and all of the cash connected to the P&L District is a complicated affair and involves several entities.

Word is TWO MAJOR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED IN THE FINANCING OF THE P&L DISTRICT HAVE FAILED and they've left Kansas City with the bill.

A bank went bust along with an insurance company which met with an untimely demise.

Now:

KANSAS CITY IS FORCED TO COME UP WITH AS MUCH AS $36 MILLION IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO PAY FOR THE P&L DISTRICT!!!

With Kansas City in the middle of a budget crisis . . . This news couldn't come at a worse time. TKC TIPSTERS are saying that the overall debt that KC will have to pick up/rearrange and repackage from these busted institutions is somewhere in the neighborhood of $167 million. And I can help but think that this might be a bit of karma because of the discriminatory dress code that often excludes Latinos and African-Americans - Shutting people out is never a good way to do business.

In any event . . .

With the help of KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS, I'm glad that I could provide a glimpse into a story that will appear in the pages of the Star sometime later this weekend . . . Just remember that you read it here first. Natch.

  1. That's one spicy meatball.

  2. KC will be cutting to the bone. Jeez! You can not sell enough beer and meat to make that payment. We need a mayor and we need one FAST!

    ReplyDelete
  3. So I guess I should go and get one of those $8 beers while I can.

    Before they raise the prices.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yay Kansas City! Go Chiefs!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wow, meanwhile the actual tax generating areas like Martini Corner and Westport wither on the vine.

    Nice planning KC.

    ReplyDelete
  6. If illegal mexicans in KC paid taxes instead of "cutting" it would not be a problem

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hey good mention of Martini Corner. That place has a lot more personality than what's at the P&L District and they do it on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't know about Westport's night club scene - far too old for that, but the daytime is actually growing. WITH NO HELP AT ALL FROM THE CITY. Several new businesses are opening - my favorites are the new juice bar and the toy store.

  9. Geez, never heard of Martini Corner - guess you can tell I'm old.

A toy store in Westport? - have kids, so will definitely have to look into that.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Better check what kind of "toys" are there before you take the kids.

  11. Come on Tony...quit the racial BS re P&L. It may have been a bad $ deal but its a haven for good looking women. They feel safe and they're more confidant that they won't be intimidated. Good looking women (in packs) is the key to any successful entertainment district. Not gangsters stomping around holding their crotches and making lewd comments.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tony "stomps around and makes lewd comments" here...and the women he paste in from around the net.

    ReplyDelete
  13. While he holds his crotch at home (nice way of putting it)

  14. The Star, however will have bank names, actual dollar amounts, etc.

    You know. Facts. Not innuendo.

    Let's refer to
The Tony Botello School of Journalism

Linking to other sources = reporting

"Sources tell me" = I made stuff up

"I don't claim to know the details" = I am lazy

"I called McClatchy" = I made stuff up

"Mary Sanchez is..." = I wish I could have ten percent of the class of Mary Sanchez

"AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS" = a black hole of made-up stupidity that sucks all the stupid in

    "Here's what I've heard" = I made stuff up

"Sushi...is kind of like a signal to brown people that their business isn't wanted." = I am either brain-damaged or retarded, your choice

"According to close watchers" = I made stuff up

ALL CAPS IN RED = phony hyperbole

NO HOMO = I pitch and catch

"Mike Hendricks is..." = I wish I had some money too

"Parties close to the case..." = no one would talk to me even if I had tried, which I didn't

"I'm not going to quote anybody on this one but people familiar with..." = I made stuff up

"The Star is dying" - I am still bitter over being rejected as an intern in '04

"Word is that..." = yup - I made stuff up

  15. wow, I did not know that Funk had a sense of humor.....

    ReplyDelete
  16. I wonder if some nig nog or other type of miscreant will shoot the red light camera at 39th and southwest trafficway?

    ReplyDelete
  17. With KC in so much debt and cutting services to the bone, does anyone think light rail supporters will shut up?

I am so glad the city does not have a big light rail bill to contend with right now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If we had approved light rail at the last election then it would be up for Federal Obama dollars. I say cut the crap from City Hall. Most of the employees cut dont' do anything anyway. Cut idigent health care (no other city pays for that, it's a state/federal issue), cut the zoo (maybe JOCO will pitch in if there is a shortage), cut Liberty Memorial, cut the huge amounts of extra workers in parks and maintenance (perhaps it should only take four people to fix a potholes instead of six). If P&L is the reason for all this cutting then I like it all the more. At least it gives the city a shot at bring outside people in and working to grow tourism, entertainment, population, etc. 50 bean counters get me NOTHING!

  19. The Tony Botello School of Journalism Part Two:

Constantly bitch about a. The Mayor and his wife. b. The Cosentinos Market downtown. c. The KC Star, which actually pimps his dumb ass on their website. and d. Anything that doesnt satisfy his beaner perspective on the world. Even though he has never been to Northeast KC, where the Hispanics have made it into a real neighborhood. Beg Rita for some bus money and go there. Oops, you are too busy jerking off to fantasies of sucking Gloria's toes and getting hard when Darla Jaye gets hard up for some news and looks for a fucktard perspective, so she calls you. And whips your pathetic ass. Tits and ass ain't gonna save your ghey ass. The corner is turning. People are finding you out. Which is good for the internet. One less asswhipe. Go away Tony.

  20. Funk-a-dunk is up late tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe Funk could lead the city in refinancing the Powers that be White district. He seems to have experience in that.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's amazing! I read the comments to find out what others think about the items that TKC writes about.

Seems like whenever he hits on something threatening to the power elite, the comments start getting personal. You clowns who throw the "h8tred on TKC are too transparent.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "Anonymous at 6:42" = best comment I've read on TKC in a year.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Maybe its time to do a contest for the date closest to the first lawsuit between Cordish and the city.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Toy store in Westport is going to be a happy KID FRIENDLY kind of place. The owner, Patrick Mar, is one heck of a nice guy.
