The news just keeps looking worse for Mayor Funky . . . He's calling a press conference right now on the 29th floor. I don't think I'm gonna run down there and go because if it's in his office . . . I'm pretty sure he'll throw me out.
On the national level and on the streets of Kansas City, public sentiment against Mayor Funky is overwhelmingly horrible. There's even a hope that he may resign this afternoon . . . But nobody gets that lucky.
What I'm hearing is pretty interesting as well:
VERY WELL INFORMED SOURCES SAY THAT MAYOR FUNKY'S LAWYER DUMPED HIM!!!
The City Council isn't going to approve any more money and the Mayor is obviously frustrated and lashing out at everyone . . . The Mayor's lawyer was good but expensive and at this point the City owes money. If Mayor Funky was a celebrity or a pop musician, this would be the point where he would check himself into one of those lush rehab places and go on TV with either Dr. Drew or Dr. Phil . . . It's just that bad.
With no money to fight, no popular support and the growing frustration Kansas City. I'm curious as to what Mayor Funky's going to say . . . So far he's done nothing but blame everyone else for his own bad decision and inability to do his job.
UPDATE: The reporting is coming in on the Mayor's press conference . . . It looks like nothing more than a bunch of complaining, blaming and smear tactics. I just don't know who this stuff is going to convince . . . Just when I think we've hit bottom, the Mayor reaches for new lows and it's obvious that this guy has just become self-destructive.
The soap-opera continues . . .
Poor guy can't catch a break.
ReplyDeleteSweet, another person to blame.
ReplyDeletePathetic.
ReplyDeleteI hear Kay Barnes is available for consulting these days.
ReplyDeleteWirken is not a good lawyer, but he is expensive.
ReplyDeleteOhh please resign.. Ohh pretty please. Would love to see a Brett Farve retirement breakdown on camera.
ReplyDeleteNow that is just cold.
ReplyDeletehe's downtown? - but his office is in Brookside, doesn't he know that?
ReplyDeleteBeaufort said that Wirken's contract was capped at 25k. He shouldn't be able to fire a client for not being able to pay more.
ReplyDeleteBut, yeah, I figured this case would settle when somebody cut JCW off from the money.
Funkhopuser looked pitiful today at the DT Council luncheon. Kay was basking and chatting up everyone - MF was ignored..
ReplyDeleteThis post is furthest from the truth. The Mayor continues to gain support due to the city council inability to get beyond the fact that KC resident voted in Mark Funkhouser and are running out of ways to make him look bad. The Mayor also continues to gain support due to the apparent mismanagement of city funds. Mark Funkhouser was the only voice of reason that the city mis(manager) needed to go. The truth is coming out (it was always there, but city council and tony didn't want to see it) that wayne cauthen is inept and has received a NO CONFIDENCE vote from the city council and the citizens of KC. As for the Mayor not doing his job.... what do you believe his job is? He is one voice in making policy. The Mayor cannot unilaterially do anything. The city manager is responsible for managing the city and tax payer monies. He has failed at both of these. Tony's infactuation with the mayor and his wife is creepy. I would suspect tony has a low self-esteem and cannot get anywhere in life on his own merit. His fixation on the mayor and his wife crosses the line and should be considered a stalker. That's really why tony didn't show up today. He is being closely monitored and one step out of line he will be taken down for the little stalking bitch that he is.
ReplyDeleteRock on Mayor Funkhouser.... You must be doing something right that all these thugs are up in arms.
kendrick, you found your balls. Gloria just now give them back to you????
ReplyDeleteThe only growing support funk has is support to throw his ass out of office.
merry christmas.....
infactuation
ReplyDeleteSounds like Kendrick.
You spell worse than Tony, and I didn't think that was possible.
5:28 is either GS or a relative. The problem is the Mayor's "puppy love" for his wife. Like a good puppy leave GS at home where she can jump up and down when come home from the office. You can take her for a walk and do whatever you like ON YOUR OWN TIME.
ReplyDeleteSo far you have cost the City of KC 25K maybe 65K in legal costs. I'm sure your attorney will sue you if you don't pay.
KC is damned if we do and damned if we don't. If we do pay Wirken's bill, then we pay. IF we don't, then we'll have to deal with yet another lawsuit for recovery of fees and that costs $$ too.
ReplyDeleteThanks to the ball-less wonder we have for a Mayor the taxpayers are going to have to pay for things that don't benefit us at all. City that Works - my ass!
Anony 5:25. You need to get with Lazlo Tooth. You two are the last supporters the mayor has. Fight Fight Fight. Lie Lie Lie.
ReplyDeleteI think that Funk posted at 5:28pm. Sounds like his sorry funkiness.
