Set Kathryn Shields Free!!!

For a moment, let's say that the throngs of hardcore Democrat bloggers are correct.

The Attorney General Scandal really is important and never again should a Mexican be allowed to attain such a high office . . . And I guess Alberto Gonzales needs to be deported after the Senate holds their no confidence vote.

Additionally, the Missouri connection to all of this "corruption" (or whatever) is also a crucial detail and just shows that Republicans were simply playing politics with the Justice Department down to the tiniest detail of every facet of this Midwestern state.

Well then my friends, if all of these factors are true as so many rabidly Democrat bloggers would have you believe . . . You must take these facts into consideration and in following that "logic" you'd have to figure that all charges against Kathryn Shields must be dropped.

Don't blame me for this theory, it's the one she's pushing as well:
Former Jackson County Executive Katheryn Shields renewed her assault on her mortgage-fraud indictment Friday with new arguments that she is being prosecuted because she is a Democrat.

In a federal court filing, Shields and her lawyer, Curtis Woods, identified nine other home sellers involved in real estate sales with other co-conspirators in the fraud case who never were prosecuted.

Shields and her husband, Philip Cardarella, have contended that the “selective and vindictive” prosecution against them is because of her political activity, including serving three terms as county executive and running for election as Kansas City mayor . . . Woods also asked the trial judge, Chief U.S. District Judge Fernando Gaitan, to note that former U.S. Attorney Todd Graves and Bradley Schlozman, the interim U.S. attorney appointed to replace Graves, both will soon testify before Congress on the “political firestorm” of whether the U.S. Justice Department was improperly used for political purposes.
So there you have it . . . All of this so-called "political theater" isn't just grandstanding, it's a struggle to ensure that politicians like Kathryn Shields are free to have murals painted in their honor and use their employees as chauffeurs. In the end, it's nice to know that the Democrat Party stands for something.

Certainly, we have to make sure that politics doesn't come into to play in the Justice Department so that politicos like Shields are free to practice their stock and trade . . . Also, I believe there is no better cause than supporting the innocence of one of Kansas City's most maligned politicians.

Still, I have a sneaking suspicion that this kind of grassroots movement behind efforts to play up the tumult isn't enough to keep Kathryn Shields out of the can, in fact, it's hard to find anyone who cares about the so-called "SCANDAL" who doesn't have a political talk show or a blog.
