Your story has become tiresome

Local prosecuting attorney and Dieter from Sprockets look-alike Mike Sanders has confirmed that he too has political ambitions with his (too little, too late) plan for addressing the murder rate in KC.

Here are his proposed solutions along with the reasons why they won’t work:

■ Hunt for more fugitives by teaming officers from some suburbs with Kansas City police and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies. When in doubt, throw all the Black people you can find into prison. The voters like this and don’t realize that prison is basically a “college” for thugs. Criminals come out more brazen, diseased, more ruthless, unwilling to go back even if it means killing a few more people and with a vast amount of criminal knowledge and connections garnered in the joint.

■ Allocate up to $50,000 to pay Kansas City detectives overtime and/or hire retired detectives. Paying the cops more is never a bad idea for somebody who wants to run for office. Cop and firefighter unions turn out to vote with nearly as great a force as they apply to old ladies that refuse to obey.

■ Have the County Drug Task Force concentrate more on street-level dealers and less on national or international cases. Again, more Black people in jail means more votes! Surely, it’s good to punish any kind of entrepreneurial spirit. We know that open, decriminalized drug markets in Europe don’t present a great threat of violence at all. The KCPD has already stated that this rash of violence has nothing to do with any kind of drug war. But, I guess that Black or brown people making easy money should be punishable by jail time. Thank God there aren’t many minority bond traders or that would probably be outlawed as well.

■ Eliminate a Jackson County jail matrix that releases prisoners after the jail reaches a capacity of 800. Finally, in case you missed it, one more time for the cheap seats: More minorities in jail = The good.

■ Start a public relations campaign to persuade witnesses to violent crimes to help police. Because who wouldn’t want all the young males in their community shipped off to cages? When will white people understand that nobody likes a sellout? Sadly, it’s the same lesson we’re not learning in Iraq.

This is yet another stupid, useless idea in an ongoing series. Sanders' plan consists of nothing more than political payoffs and archaic, racist maneuvers. Clearly, Sanders only wants a future in politics and not a workable strategy. And regarding his political career: I don’t know homeboy, I’m not sure how this part of the country will warm up to a lipstick wearing tough guy.

Never mind that other communities have reduced violent crime and murders by going after criminals in possession of illegal firearms (not gun control silly) and reducing the enforcement of drug laws. (find the sources yourself ya lazy fuckers and think Europe, ya racist bastards) Still, “throw all the Black people in jail” is a strategy that seems like it emanates from somebody like William Bennett and it won’t work because that’s the plan we’ve been following last time I checked. This plan doesn’t address quality of life in KC’s violent areas at all; even the Romans knew that maintaining order in any society was dependent on providing a decent standard of living. (Bread and games fool) Undoubtedly, this is a plan from a guy who has great doubts about his masculinity and wants to come off looking butch.

Yep, I could expand on all of those points but I won’t because now is the time on Sprockets when we dance!!!

Touche.

As an analogy, think of the flooding of New Orleans. You can pump the water out, but without quality levees to protect the city, the flooding will continue every time there is substantial rain. Lock up all the black people you want, but until the issues causing young black men to resort to the innovation of crime are resolved, there will be no shortage of violent criminals to throw in jail.

Regarding rebuilding New Orleans: You could rebuild the levies, or you could just avoid building a city BELOW SEA LEVEL!!!

It wasn't even other communities. You seem to be referring to Kansas City Gun Experiment in which police did exactly what you mentioned...confiscated illegal guns. The murder rate dropped substantially.
